Journal Post 12 - What have I been doing lately? Instagram will tell you!

This morning I lined up all the products I needed to review and... /sobbu \

Hahaha nah I kid I love reviewing products, I just rarely have the time to.

Activity wise, I participated in my school's Art Day. I chose photography and it was so much fun! Wait, have I talked about this already? Oh well~ I'm better at knowing how aperture, ISO and frames per second have an effect on taking photos and on my noob-wannabe-SLR camera (don't get me wrong, I love my camera and it's an amazing point-and-shoot, halfway-between-point-and-shoot-and-SLR) I can finally use manual now! Not very well, I might add, but nevertheless adequately :D

On the day we did digital photography and pinhole photography. If you're not sure what pinhole photography is, it's, according to the reputable source of all knowledge known as Wikipedia (I'm half kidding) "a simple camera without a lens and with a single small aperture – effectively a light-proof box with a small hole in one side". It was painstakingly difficult but here are some of our results:

Here are two of the digital photos I took~

Haha yep, took a photo of my shoes xD

Though the quality can't be seen from my phone, I was pretty proud of it thanks to the aperture :D

Haha I'm a noob, okay? Humour me guys xD

For our last year 10 Literature Club, we had High Tea, and I bought flowers and chocolates and a card for our teacher~

And the day after, we went to Lasertag to battle between our teams! (This is for a Space program our school has) Also I'm actually wearing purple eyeshadow, but it got filtered out ;O;

Also, guess who I got to meet?!

Yes that IS THE Rebel Wilson! She is so spunky and awesome! She was wearing these awesome shoes with cute bears attached to them (will upload later) and also gold sunnies. It was funny how in the Cafeteria, we saw her walk in -

Me: Nice sunnies!
Rebel Wilson: Thanks, they're real gold.
Me: REALLY?! Wait a second... hey!
Rebel Wilson: *laughs and keeps walking*

I am so gullible ;A;

Also, finished watching Doctor Who season 2 and Mulan. Yes, it's true, I have never seen Mulan before.

DEPRIVED CHILD

Hahahaha

Okay till next time!

Review Post 12 - Grace Cole foaming facial wash

Hey there! This review is long overdue - in fact, I've already nearly finished using the product! Ahahaha

Also I just took the photo right next to the sink. Hahaha

Name of product: Tea tree and witch hazel foaming facial wash
Brand: Grace Cole
Amount: 150mL

My opinion: I bought this from Chemists' Warehouse as it was on sale, and the packaging looked lovely.

Since I've been using it for a few months now, I can say that at first I was surprised in that it wasn't as foaming as I expected it to be. But appearances are deceiving!

Because seriously though, this face wash has become a favourite of mine. I love the clean scent! Quality wise, it's a gentle cleaner that brightens my face. After use, my skin has a matte sheen, is clearer and feels refreshed~ Also, it doesn't dry out your face. :D

Rating: 8/10

Would I buy it again? Yes~ :)

Till next time~!

OOTD post #1 - Neutrals

Hey guys first OOTD post!

I'm wearing a sweater from ONLY, singlet from Azona AO2, high waist white shorts from Jayjays and neutral coloured sandals from Novo Shoes.

It was just for going out shopping, haha~

I also did a 1980s makeup tutorial for a history project... it is highly ridiculous and a little embarrassing but I am contemplating putting it up anyway. Hahaha.

I still have so many reviews to post, but I left my USB at home... ahh...

Oh, and tonight I'm going to a laser tag event for our school's Astronomy team. Expect an OOTD incorporating our team shirt, hee~

Till next time!

Journal Post 10 – Liebster Award and updates

Hey there, everyone! I’ve been busy these past few days:
  • Tuesday: Peer support program all day
  • Wednesday: Peer support program all day PLUS “LitFlick” (Literature Club movie afternoon, we watched War Horse) followed immediately by our year’s movie night! (Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.) I arrived home at nine thirty OTL
  • Thursday: We went white water rafting for a PE excursion – SO MUCH FUN! Some of my friends wagged school to go shopping, but seriously regret nothing. I fell into the artificial river five times – so much fun and so hilarious!
Anyways, I woke up yesterday to check my email on my phone and voila – I’d been nominated for the Liebster Award!
Thank you very much to CHiBiCHiC (http://chibichicblog.blogspot.com.au/) for nominating me! Despite being a “blogger chain letter” type award, I am very much honoured! ^_^
So how it works is that once you’ve been nominated, you must answer the eleven questions presented to you by the blogger who nominated you. You nominate 11 bloggers yourself and type up 11 questions for them to answer. The catch is all bloggers must have less than 200 followers!
So here are CHiBiCHiC’s questions and my answers to them~!
1) What made you decide to start a blog?

The reason is because I’ve always believed in the importance of having a voice, and I wanted to see how far my voice could be heard. I originally was going to include everything into the one blog, but then I split it as I was worried due that readers wouldn’t really like a fashion, literature AND cosplay blog. (I plan on writing original fiction as well on my literature blog ^_^) Anyhow, I just wanted my opinions to be heard. Teehee.

2) Who would you consider your celebrity idol and why?

Wow, that’s a tough one. I mean, I have celeb crushes and I do admire many, but I don’t really ‘idolise’ them or anything. I will have to say though, perhaps not a celebrity idol but a blogger, I really admire Bubzbeauty ^_^

3) If you could be any fictional villain, who would you choose?

My first thought was Loki from Thor/Avengers but honestly, I like him too much to actually want to be him. Perhaps a Dalek from Doctor Who? Haha!

4) What is your life's dream?

I want to experience as much as possible – and I’d love to be a fashion designer.

5) Out of the friends you have, was there one which you met through unusual circumstances and how?

I guess I met most through school, anime conventions and at times over FB/forums (safely, I assure you!) Not really any cool stories here, sorry. My mum would honestly go berserk if I made friends anywhere else. (She’d go insane about friends over the Internet TBH haha)

6) What is the worst or most bizarre program you have ever seen on television?

I don’t watch a lot of TV, but I saw an episode of Big Brother and it was pretty bad. I was bored beyond belief. As for bizarre, but in a good way, Doctor Who. I’m watching it now. Just finished the first series and LOVED it.

7) What song best describes you as a person?

Oh a toughie this one ;A; I’d like to jokingly say So Hot by Wonder Girls but currently as a person, it’s Walking on Sunshine. If you asked me a few years ago I might have given you a depressing song lol.

8) What is your favourite culture and why?

I don’t really have a favourite (I feel bad for being so on-the-fence about so many of these questions OTL). I love Chinese culture (being of Chinese heritage). Otherwise I love Japanese culture (who can resist ninjas and samurai? /shot Seriously though I’m a bit of an otaku ;A; and Japanese food… omnomnom!)

9) What has been your most proud moment in life to date?

When I realised that I had mostly accepted myself for who I was. I didn’t know it at the time, but I went through a period of mild anxiety, and a lack of self-confidence. Also proud of every unexpected award I’ve ever gotten, whether academic or… blogger ;)

10) What has been the scariest film you have seen. (For whatever reason?)

Jurassic Park! We watched it in science and it is TRULY stressful – especially when those velociraptors were hunting the kids trapped in the kitchen! I don’t watch much horror though OTL But man, Jurassic Park scared the bejeebus out of me ;3;)b

11) How much herp could a herp-a-derp herp if a herp-a-derp could herp derp?
Possibly none. If a herp-a-derp could herp derp as well as herp herp then yes, but if the herp-a-derp was restricted to herping derp then it could not herp herp. ;3;)/
Haha these questions were fun!
So who have I nominated~?
  1. Valentina at ValentinaDang (http://valentinadang.blogspot.com.au/)
  2. Sam Murakami at ColorCrush (http://colorcrrush.blogspot.com.au/)
  3. Emily Marie at Isn’t That Charming (http://isntthatcharming.blogspot.com.au/)
  4. Maha at the Kansai Gal Salaryman (http://maharinastyle.blogspot.com.au/)
  5. Valkoinen Samurai at Valkoinen Samurai’s Cosplay (http://valkoinensamurai.blogspot.com.au/)
  1. Fuyumi Tina at 貧しい生活 (http://diariesofacosplayer.blogspot.com.au/)
  1. V..Rouss at biipler melody (http://biiplermelody.blogspot.com.au/)
  2. Aeviking at  Desde mi Mundo Perdido (http://desdemimundoperdido.blogspot.com.au/)
There were a few bloggers I follow with JUST over 200 followers, but meant I couldn’t nominate them /sobbu
*sighs* I don’t follow enough blogs it seems ^_^
But anyhow, congrats! Now for my questions.
  1. What is the most versatile item in your wardrobe?
  2. If you could exist in the universe of any fandom, what would it be?
  3. Your celeb crush asks you out on a date. Where do you go/what do you do? (That’s probably two questions lol)
  1. What was the most terrible ending to a book, comic/manga, show or movie you’ve read or seen?
  1. What is one feature a member of the opposite sex could have that you find very attractive?
  2. What makes you want to read/follow a blog?
  3. What is the worst make up product you’ve ever used? Why?
  4. What is your biggest pet peeve?
  1. What is the most annoying characteristic a person could have?
  1. If you could have one wish, what would it be?
  1. If money were no object, what would you do with your life?
You can tell I was slowly running out of questions to write.
Till next time!

Review Post 11 – Formula 10.0.6 No Time to Shine mask

Hi guys~ Right after exams I tried Formula 10.0.6’s “No time to shine” mud mask. I wasn’t really expecting much because the other mask I bought from them, the Deep Down Detox, made my skin brighter but not really any clearer.

But I was surprised!

I bought the sample, $1.99 for one, from Priceline Pharmacy. Here’s the packaging :3
 Front

Back

The consistency is thick and has a greyish-blue tinge. There’s enough to apply a thick layer over your face and the top of your neck~

Tehe~ It was quite cold a few days ago =_=’

The results:

After washing off the mask, my blackheads were significantly smaller and had less gunk in them. My skin also felt super smooth and velvety, especially along the T-zone, which is where most of the oil on my face comes from.

Some of the drier parts of my face looked a little red though, so if you have combination skin, it’s better to put the product just along the oily areas! And moisturise after, of course.

I tried it on before bed and in the morning my skin was still fine 8)

My opinion?

As opposed to  the other mask, which was disappointing, I found that this clay mask had great results! It lasts for a day, though I would recommend against using this all the time, as it may cause an INCREASE in oil secretion if you deprive your skin of oils all the time. Will I rebuy this, though? Yes!

Rating: 8/10

Till next time~!
